Many fans have been asking for a modern 2D Castlevania on home console for years, and Konami’s set to provide something close to that with Harmony of Despair. As part of the Xbox Live “Summer of Arcade,” Despair will arrive on August 4th for 1200 Microsoft Points. The game takes place in stages “inspired by” the three Castlevania games on Nintendo DS, oddly enough, and leans heavily on a multiplayer component. A press release follows below. There’s a video and something like 35 images here, so take your time… drink it all in. Notice the familiar names, too, like Cornell and Carmilla. Of course, these are different characters now. This isn’t the same Castlevania timeline we’ve been playing for years. Still, it’s fun to see some familiar ideas. It’s nice to see this much new footage in the trailer, but this one’s nowhere as well put together as the earlier one. It’s scattered, sloppy, and some of the animations that are shown off are clearly not ready for prime time. See the huge crop of images below. Similar Posts:
Does this image look familiar? It should, this was the first image leaked about this game, the one that, to me, looked so unlikely to be official that I dismissed the game almost entirely.
