Check out this pile of seventeen Lords of Shadow images from Konami’s New York Gamers Day and let me know what you think. I see what appears to be a beautiful game. I hope that by the time I get my copy they’ve polished up the animations a bit… they still look just a little bit off in the videos that are coming out.
See the rest below.

Konami has shared their latest crop of images from Lords of Shadow, and now I’m sharing it with you. The big revelation for me here is none other than Olrox, last seen in Symphony of the Night! How exciting is that? Enjoy the rest of the screens below!

Many fans have been asking for a modern 2D Castlevania on home console for years, and Konami’s set to provide something close to that with Harmony of Despair. As part of the Xbox Live “Summer of Arcade,” Despair will arrive on August 4th for 1200 Microsoft Points. The game takes place in stages “inspired by” the three Castlevania games on Nintendo DS, oddly enough, and leans heavily on a multiplayer component.
A press release follows below.

Konami’s dropped a bunch of E3 2010 art for Lords of Shadow. There’s a video and something like 35 images here, so take your time… drink it all in. Notice the familiar names, too, like Cornell and Carmilla. Of course, these are different characters now. This isn’t the same Castlevania timeline we’ve been playing for years. Still, it’s fun to see some familiar ideas.
It’s nice to see this much new footage in the trailer, but this one’s nowhere as well put together as the earlier one. It’s scattered, sloppy, and some of the animations that are shown off are clearly not ready for prime time. See the huge crop of images below.

Does this image look familiar? It should, this was the first image leaked about this game, the one that, to me, looked so unlikely to be official that I dismissed the game almost entirely. But hey, we get to be wrong sometimes.
There’s a lot more art here to share, so click on through to see it all, including screenshots.
