While Konami’s not doing much to promote their new Castlevania game, the Internet will never be stopped.
Now that the game’s out in Japan and we’re all jealous over here in the West, we’ve got a stream of information about the game, thanks to Castlevania fan Eric Caolli over at TinyCartridge. There’s a video of the first [...]
Hey, guess what. Chris Kohler went to Japan and bought some video games, then he talked about it on his blog at Wired. Among his great finds is a PS2 game I would love to have in my collection which contains the original arcade game (Haunted Castle) and a bunch of bonus items.
Here in the US, we’ve got a line of PlayStation games called “Greatest Hits.” The way this works is, once a game reaches a certain level of sales, they change the box art and drop the price. The box gets an ugly dark red band on it.
In Japan, Konami does their own budget release thing with [...]
This new trailer, out since late last month, shows a main character (Mysterious Girl here, she’s referred to as Little Witch on the site) along with weapons and features gamers will see in Japan’s Castlevania: The Arcade. The game came out this past February there. I’m happy to see the English subtitles in this trailer, that makes things so much easier… of course, there’s almost no info in that text anyway. There’s been no word on a US release of this game, but you’ll see the pointer controls involved in the trailer, which to me suggest we might see a version of the game appear on Nintendo Wii… at which point a US release is an obvious choice. Heck, the model of the controller even shows a similar layout to the Wii Remote for the light-gun shooting action. A bunch of info about the game, along with its stages and characters, has also been released. Want to see a more detailed image of the controller? That’s it right there.
Check the first trailer below if you missed it the first time around.
Judgment launched today in Japan, and Koji Igarashi was on hand to promote the game with some guy dressed as Simon Belmont, as he appeared in the game. Sort of.
As alarming as cosplay gone wrong can be, this is just a little bit creepy. Why does this guy look like a Japanese Mike Myers? Check through below for the entire gallery, including some interesting images of a Simon Belmont statue and some Judgment manga, or go look at it at Dengeki Online if you’re so inclined.
