Cox confirms two DLC packs, two collector’s editions in 1up interview

1up interviewed Dave Cox at Gamescom and came out with some key information for those of us who are buying. He confirmed that there will, indeed, be two DLC packs as we had previously heard. They will feature new areas and enemies, and will not add an ending to the game, which seems to imply that they may be more along the lines of sidequests. There are also two versions of the Collector’s Edition for Lords of Shadow. The North American version has the soundtrack and an artbook, and the European version has a mask instead of the art book. Looks like I’ll have to email a friend on the other side of the pond about this matter and see what can be done.

The rest of the information relates to the actual development of the game, how Kojima and Igarashi tie in, things along those lines. It’s a good read if you’re following this game, so check it out.

This new trailer for Castlevania: Lords of Shadow from Gamescom is called “Prophecy.” Along with this nice new video, there is some other information coming out that Konami has yet to provide directly, including that there are two large DLC packs planned for the game that will appear shortly after release and will continue the game’s story “directly from the end of the game.”

Giant Bomb’s quick look at Harmony of Despair is funny

I laughed out loud at “I have like ten of those.” I then proceeded to laugh at many other things in the video after that. It occurs to me that the conventions of this series are absolutely ridiculous. I mean, Castlevania is pretty damn stupid. Why do we love it so much?

I also chuckled at the fact that they couldn’t get the game working online, either. I’d love to see some stats to know what percentage of people with this game are able to play it online.
