There are plenty of Castlevania websites, but for the most part, they’re either unusable, out of date, inaccurate, incomplete, or some combination of all of these. As one of the premier franchises in gaming, Castlevania deserves better, and that’s what we strive to be: a comprehensive, timely, attractive location where readers can not only keep up on the latest news about Castlevania, but participate in discussion of the nuances of the brand’s oldest episodes.
My name is Stephen Munn, and I’m a staff writer at Aeropause.com. I built this blog, and populated it with articles I wrote for other sites, when I finally accepted that the readership of those sites didn’t really care about these games. I first played Castlevania in its second NES iteration, Simon’s Quest. I was hooked, and preordered Dracula’s Curse when I read about that game. That was probably the first video game I ever bought new. I later sought out the original Castlevania, then kept up with the episodes after III, including Super Castlevania IV and Bloodlines. By 1995, when Dracula X came out, I had moved on to gaming in Windows.
I played Symphony of the Night on PlayStation when it was new, and didn’t really like it. I played through and adored Aria of Sorrow on Game Boy Advance a few years later, then beat Circle of the Moon and this was around the time this blog begins.
Most recently, I began a quest to own every North American Castlevania release, which is largely complete.
