I’ve mentioned the DOS post of Castlevania a couple of times before, most notably in an article about how to play it on your modern home computers. However, when one wants a collection of video games, one needs the games, not copies of them. As a result, I’ve begun my search for the last three Castlevania games, the ones for DOS, Commodore 64, and Commodore Amiga. I once saw the Commodore 64 version on eBay as part of a lot of hundreds of games and a system somewhere in Colorado, but of course with all that stuff in the one auction plus insane shipping, it was immediately out of range. There are listings for the DOS and 64 versions of the game on Amazon, so I placed preorders for them, in case anyone wants to sell one.
I imagine these games are pretty hard to come by, but it’s hard to judge whether they’ll be worth a lot of money. I don’t expect there’s much demand for games like this that were built for dead platforms, but I suppose we’ll see. I’ll keep my eyes open, and hope if any of my readers see any of these they’ll grab it for me.
