Castlevania‘s best-known and loved musical engineer, Michiru Yamane, was interviewed by 1up recently about the music of Castlevania. This is fascinating stuff, as this woman’s done most of the music in the series since Bloodlines. 1UP: Prior to Symphony of the Night, you had written music for Castlevania: Bloodlines, which appeared on the Sega [...] There were two tracks on the Adventure Rebirth soundtrack (which frustratingly was not sent to me with the box set like it was supposed to) that didn’t actually appear in the game. Things like this happen. I don’t feel like we were particularly ripped off. The music in the game was actually pretty disappointing. All this [...] I was thrilled to see my Castlevania Best Music Collections Box had finally arrived today, and then pretty disappointed to find that several of the parts of the set shown in multiple photos on Play-Asia’s product page had not come with it. Unfortunately, it still hasn’t shipped.
